Baldur's Gate 3 Deluxe Edition console orders are finally getting into the hands of players in some countries, following a delay. However, those in North America may have to wait even longer, as Larian reveals that there's a hold-up in getting Deluxe Editions shipped to the region.
Larian just confirmed this on social media, in response to a tweet from, uh, me. My PS5 Deluxe Edition just arrived in the post, prompting a whole lot of other players to wonder where their orders are. Turns out, those of you outside of Europe and Oceania are in for a longer wait, and even in those regions, Xbox Series X users have been hit with a delay too.
"Although we were hopeful there would be no more delays, we share your frustration in waiting to receive your copies," says Larian, before giving us new release windows. "We are working closely with our partners to ensure those who have pre-ordered the PS5 US version should begin to see their copies shipped later this month, and Xbox versions within the next two weeks."
Larian adds that the delay was caused by "changes in the scope and manufacturing" of the Deluxe Editions. However, the studio also says that it hopes there will be no further delays, and that copies will arrive in a few weeks.
This is currently the only way outside of Japan to nab a physical copy of Baldur's Gate 3, which had a digital-only launch last year.
In any case, don't resort to scalpers. Larian has previously confirmed that this isn't a limited edition run, so there's no point in buying from resellers online. You can still order copies on any platform via the official website. They are being sent out in waves though, so if you place an order now, don't expect it to turn up at your door anytime soon - there's still the first bunch of pre-orders to get through.
