Amazon Games’ MMO action RPG New World might be headed to PlayStation 5. After originally releasing on PC in 2021, it now seems set for a console release, with an announcement potentially coming in the very near future.
As spotted recently by a user on Reddit, the game was spotted on the PS5 PlayStation Store’s “sponsored” section under the name New World Aeternum (which is the name of the island where the game takes place). Supposedly, it was removed from the store’s front page shortly after it was first spotted.
What’s interesting is that an announcement related to New World is expected in the very near future, with Amazon Games recently having confirmed that it will be making an “exciting announcement” regarding the MMORPG at the Summer Game Fest showcase, which kicks off later today at 2 PM Pacific.
Whether that means New World is set to be announced for PS5 remains to be seen, though that is seeming likely based on these recent developments. Presumably, that means the game will also be coming to Xbox Series X/S. Either way, stay tuned for more updates through the day.
