trailer for Utopia’s forthcoming comedy-drama has been released, starring Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star Nick Jonas. The film will be having nationwide Fathom screenings on July 23 and July 25, which will include an exclusive virtual Q&A star with Nick Jonas, Director Robert Schwartzman and special guest moderator Kiernan Shipka.

The Good Half trailer features Jonas as a young man returning to his hometown following the death of his beloved mother. He, along with his sister, father, and stepfather are tasked to arrange her funeral. The film is directed by Robert Schwartzman (The Unicorn) from a screenplay written by Brett Ryland. Joining Jonas in the comedy-drama are Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect), Alexandra Shipp (Tragedy Girls), Matt Walsh (Veep) and David Arquette (Scream franchise), with The Karate Kid vet Elisabeth Shue.
“In the film, Renn Wheeland returns home to Cleveland for his mother’s funeral. Once there, he forges new relationships while healing old ones, before confronting his problems and trying to face his grief,” reads the synopsis.
Following The Good Half, Jonas will next be seen in John Carney’s next musical comedy Power Ballad with Paul Rudd and Jack Reynor. Production on the said project is now currently underway in Ireland. He will also have an appearance in the upcoming Netflix comedy film You’re Cordially Invited, which will be led by Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.
