ComingSoon is excited to debut an exclusive Monkey Man video from the home release’s special features. The 78-second video discusses how much of a labor of love the film was for director and star Dev Patel and how Jordan Peele stepped in after it was dropped at its previous studio. Monkey Man is now available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD from Universal.
“Inspired by the legend of Hanuman, an icon embodying strength and courage, the film follows Kid, an anonymous young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash,” reads the official synopsis. “After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.”
