Among the many new games to be revealed in today’s Nintendo Direct was the largest Mario Party game to date. In the trailer for, players got a glimpse of the many party games that will be available in the Nintendo Switch title, as well as the game’s release date.
Super Mario Party Jamboree will be released on October 17 for Nintendo Switch. The game is part of Nintendo’s holiday lineup, arriving a month after The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and a month before Mario & Luigi: Brothership.
The largest Mario Party game ever will take place across an enormous island resort. There are five new maps, including the multi-story shopping mall Rainbow Galleria, where flash sales will offer stars at half price for players to purchase with their hard-earned coins. There’s also Roll ‘Em Raceway with its turbo dice rolls and the volcanic and tidal Goomba Lagoon, which means players may have to switch paths.
Completing the list of new boards are Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party and King Bowser’s Keep. Mario’s Rainbow Castle returns from Mario Party, while Mario Party 2’s Western Land also makes another appearance.
Between the maps, there will be more than 110 minigames to play. Some center around action-packed challenges like running an obstacle-filled gauntlet or speed trials. Then there are puzzles like putting parts of a shark picture in the right order. Other minigames will require motion controls, like shaking the controller to hammer nails into a board or tilting the controller to roll a golf ball around a course.
Those with a Nintendo Switch Online membership can also take part in the Koopathlon mode that pits up to 20 players against each other in a head-to-head competition across a number of minigames.
