All’s Fair: Halle Berry Makes a Swift Exit from Ryan Murphy’s Legal Drama Series

Halle Berry has departed the cast of —just a week after reports of her joining Ryan Murphy’s legal drama.

Variety exclusively revealed that Berry would no longer star alongside Glenn Close and Kim Kardashian in Murphy’s show and would no longer be its executive producer.

Variety’s sources say it’s simply a scheduling conflict for Oscar winner Berry. She left before we learned who her character in All’s Fair was.

All’s Fair will tell the story of an all-female law firm in Los Angeles. American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy serves as writer, director, and executive producer on the series for Disney’s 20th Television and Hulu. Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Baken, Jamie Pachino, Laura Greene, and Richard Levine also serve as writers and executive producers. Kim Kardashian and Glenn Close are executive producers, along with Kris Jenner, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, and Scott Robertson. 

The show is the first to come out of Murphy’s deal with Disney following the expiration of his Netflix deal.

Halle Berry will still have plenty going on this year away from All’s Fair. She currently has two feature films on the horizon. She’s starring in Netflix’s The Union with Mark Wahlberg on August 16, 2024. That’s followed by the Alexandre Aja horror movie Never Let Go on September 27, 2024.

Halle Berry began her onscreen ascent in the 90s in movies such as The Flinstones, Boomerang, and The Last Boy Scout. She rose to stardom in the early 2000s thanks to her role as Storm in Bryan Singer’s X-Men. She then won an Academy Award for her role in the 2001 movie Monster’s Ball. Since then, Berry has starred in films such as Die Another Day, Robots, John Wick 3, Cloud Atlas, and Moonfall. And yes…Catwoman.

Hulu will hope Ryan Murphy’s All’s Fair is the latest smash hit in the writer and director’s television career. Murphy has been a part of various shows, including Nip/Tuck, Scream Queens, Popular, Glee, and the long-running American Horror Story. He’s also directed films like Eat Pray
