Google and Apple have introduced a new tool designed to simplify the process of transferring media from Google Photos to iCloud. This direct transfer method eliminates the need for manual downloads and uploads, providing a streamlined experience that saves time and data.
Before starting the transfer, it's essential to verify that you have adequate iCloud storage. Check your available storage and, if necessary, upgrade your iCloud storage plan to accommodate your Google Photos library.

On your Apple device, navigate to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud, and enable both iCloud Photos and iCloud Drive. This step ensures that your media can be seamlessly transferred and accessed within the iCloud ecosystem.
Open a web browser and go to Google Takeout (takeout.google.com). This platform allows users to export data from various Google services, including Google Photos.

From the list of available data types, choose "Google Photos." This selection ensures that only your photos and videos will be included in the export process.
Select "Apple - iCloud Photos" as your transfer destination. This option directs Google to send your media directly to your iCloud account.
When prompted, enter your Apple ID credentials. This step links your Google Photos account with your iCloud account, facilitating the transfer.
Allow Google to add photos and videos to your iCloud account by granting the necessary permissions. This authorization is required for the transfer to proceed.
