Warhammer 40K fans were in for a treat this week as Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive dropped a six minute gameplay overview trailer for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2.
Narrated by creative director Oliver Hollis-Leick, the video walks us through Space Marine 2’s campaign and multiplayer co-op modes, as well as its various progression systems.
Set 100 after its predecessor, players will take on the role of Ultramarines lieutenant Demetrian Titus. Titus has got himself into a bit of a pickle as he’s been busted down a rank and put in the position of proving his dedication to the Imperium.
The gameplay showed off Space Marine 2’s impressive “swarm technology” which allows for hundreds of enemies to be on screen simultaneously, which goes a long way towards not only creating a sense of the scale of battles but also fulfilling the power fantasy of playing a powerful Space Marine.
Operations, a co-op specific PvE mode, allows players to group up and take on an array of replayable missions, upgrade characters with perks and weapons, and unlock a variety of cosmetic rewards.
The game also offers a 6v6 PvP mode titled Eternal War, where players can duke it out across Deathmatch, Seize Ground, and Capture and Control game modes.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 drops onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 9.
