Netflix is expanding its growing catalog of mobile titles with over 80 new games, and plans to launch a new title each month, starting in July.
During its latest earnings call on July 18, Netflix Co-CEO, President & Director Gregory K. Peters stated, “We’ve launched over 100 games so far. We’ve seen what works, what doesn’t work. We’re refining our program to do more of what is working with the 80-plus games that we currently have in development.”
According to Peters, these new titles will be considered “interactive narrative games.” Based on IPs like Emily in Paris and Selling Sunset, these titles, dubbed Netflix Stories, will be available through their own hub on the Netflix app and are largely used to draw attention to the other exclusive content available on the streaming service.
While new additions to Netflix’s existing library of games are exciting, Perfect Match: The Game may understandably not be your idea of a great time. However, aside from its original titles, the Netflix app has a catalog of awesome third-party titles that are available free to subscribers, and include some of the best mobile games currently available. Examples include The Case of the Golden Idol, Krispee Street, Spiritfarer, and more.
