In case you've been living under a rock, a movie based on the The Legend of Zelda franchise is coming to theatres. Details are sparse at the moment, so we have no clue what game, if any, it'll cover.
What we do know is that the movie will be, live-action, produced in conjunction with Sony Pictures, have involvement from Shigeru Miyamoto, and will be directed by Wes Ball. But if you were wondering what Ball's favourite game is, well, you're out of luck.
Taking to social media, Ball revealed that he is indeed a fan of Nintendo's long-running franchise. But he wouldn't commit to naming a particular favourite title. As he aptly put it, "best to say nothing as things just get misinterpreted."
Still, that won't stop anyone, or us, from trying to determine if there's a hidden meaning behind his post. After all, he is posing in front of a promotional placard for Tears of the Kingdom. Granted, it's not like you'll find a promotional picture for Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, or Minish Cap just lying around to take a picture in front of.
But as they always say, where there is a will, there is a way. So perhaps Ball is letting on a bit more than he's saying. And if he isn't, then it's a good photo nonetheless.
While information is pretty limited, based on how well the Super Mario Bros. movie was received and performed, it's not unreasonable to expect a similar breakout hit. In the interim, if you'd like to check out Ball's directorial style, then Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes just released on Friday.
