Crash And Spyro Developer Reportedly Working On New Game For Xbox

Toys for Bob has reportedly entered a deal with Xbox to develop a new game that's similar to its previous work.

This comes just weeks after Toys for Bob, fondly remembered for the revivals of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon, went independent from its parent company, Activision Blizzard, which is now owned by Xbox. Now, according to a report from Windows Central, the newly indie Toys for Bob is going straight to Xbox, bypassing Activision Blizzard altogether.

According to sources speaking with Windows Central, Xbox will fund Toys for Bob's first game. These sources also described the game as similar to the studio's previous work, although it's not clear if this means we're getting more Crash and Spyro games. In any case, if true, it does mean we can expect the team to make a game in the same genre.

Thanks to Xbox's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, the gaming giant now owns Crash and Spyro, and could agree to have Toys for Bob continue its work on the series. This would likely be the best outcome for the indie studio, as the report also states there were issues between the team and its previous owners.
