The success of the Fallout show on Prime Video has also led to an uptick in game sales, which means there's a huge demand for mods. Now, it turns out that this demand was more than Nexus Mods could handle, as Fallout fans have downloaded so many mods at once that it's crashed the website.
At the time of writing, you may not be able to access any of the pages on Nexus Mods. Instead, you might find yourself taken to a page with a message from the site team, pinning the outages on "the popularity of the Fallout TV series".
The following message will show if you can't access Nexus Mods:

I was just able to get back into the website after a refresh, but with Fallout's popularity at an all-time high, Nexus might run into more issues over the weekend. As we saw last weekend, Sunday was the biggest day for Fallout 4 and New Vegas modding on record, but this has since been beaten by the demand for mods on Friday of this week.
With sales of Fallout games on the rise, it's not too surprising to see the usage of mods increase as well. Games made in Bethesda's engine always have huge modding communities, either to fix bugs in the base game or to add new content altogether. Heck, I'm part of the problem, as I've been installing mods to New Vegas, giving the game a facelift and adding in some fan-made quests.
Judging from last week's figures, it's Fallout 4 and New Vegas that are being played and modded the most. This also isn't surprising, as Fallout 4 is the most recent single-player game, so a likely starting point for new fans or anyone who wants a more modern action RPG experience.
