As we inch closer to the autumn launch of Sonic X Shadow Generations, an icon for the game has been added to Steam's database. This gives us a look at another piece of official art made for the Generations remaster - but it's going down a whole lot worse than what we got during the game's reveal.
It's easy to see why. For some reason, the current Steam icon for Sonic X Shadow Generations is the same render of Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic from the original game. Only this time, Shadow is wedged between them and is made to be much bigger than the Sonics.
As you can see above, some fans are even having a go at making their own, keeping all the characters proportional to one another. But overall, it looks like fans aren't happy with the logo design uploaded to Steam, feeling that we should have gotten a more recent render of the hedgehog gang.
Of course, we're still months away from release, so it's possible that this was just chucked in there as a placeholder. It doesn't appear anywhere on the Steam storefront right now, just the database, so it might be updated before the game goes live. And, at the very least, it implies that Shadow is taking centre stage, which has made some fans happy.
We haven't heard much about Sonic X Shadow Generations since its reveal in January of this year. As the name suggests, it's a remaster of Sonic Generations that adds in some Shadow levels. Yes, that means that a whole new generation of Sonic fans will probably be introduced to Maria Robotnik's death. And right before the film adaptation, which will probably depict this moment too, only this time in live action. You love to see it.
Sonic X Shadow Generations is set to launch this autumn, and is coming to PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
