One gamer has discovered a bag of officially licensed PlayStation-branded pasta from Italy, each piece of which is shaped like the four iconic sacred symbols. This pasta is quite the novelty, to say the least, and it's surely going to go down as one of the weirder bits of merchandising in PlayStation history.
Every now and then, the three console manufacturers like to surprise their fans by unveiling something completely out of the ordinary, like food-related merchandise. Microsoft, for instance, just released a toaster shaped like an Xbox Series S that pairs perfectly with the Series X mini fridge they launched back in 2021. Though Nintendo itself has yet to release any food-related merchandise so far, The Pokemon Company, on the other hand, has started selling Slowpoke-themed food products in Japan. Even Valve has joined in on this food-themed trend, too, by giving away a turkey fryer to one lucky individual who bought a Steam Deck, though that one may have been an accident. And now, it seems like PlayStation fans are getting their own food products pertaining to their favorite console brands as well.
A user on Reddit, who goes by the name Musicus, has shared a photo on the r/PlayStation subreddit of what appears to be official PlayStation-themed pasta. Though the poster doesn't share any details on the food itself, they do mention that they got ahold of this bag of pasta thanks to a friend who gave it to them after a trip from Italy. Unfortunately, the packaging of the bag itself doesn't provide any specifics on the type of pasta this is. Regardless though, given the iconic PlayStation logos all over this packaging, it's safe to say that this pasta is the product of a marketing campaign from the gaming giant.
