Kai Cenat Has Beaten Elden Ring After 166 Hours And 1,701 Deaths
thegamer.comIt may have taken 167 hours and more than 1,700 deaths, but Kai Cenat has finally managed to beat Elden Ring and put an end to his marathon Twitch stream.
Elden Ring might not be as difficult as some of FromSoftware's other games (Sekiro's Isshin, the Sword Saint, I'm looking at you), but it's still a hell of a challenge, especially if you're new to the Soulslike genre. Clearly unaware of the task ahead of him, Twitch streamer Kai Cenat decided that he was going to beat the game in one marathon (not including sleeping) that wouldn't stop until he hit the credits.
After announcing the Elden Ring marathon with a flashy trailer, Cenat started his playthrough of Elden Ring last week on May 10, which kicked off about as well as you'd expect it to considering his lack of experience with the Soulslike genre. Cenat notably spent six hours and 123 deaths trying to get past The Tree Sentinel, before hitting a tear-inducing roadblock in the form of Red Wolf of Radagon, who killed him 50 more times.
Although many assumed that Cenat simply wouldn't be able to beat Elden Ring after he spent 30 hours and more than 400 deaths trying to get past Malenia, one of the game's most infamously difficult bosses, he's managed to prove the naysayers wrong by defeating Elden Beast and finally finishing his marathon.
As you can see in the clip from Dexerto above, Cenat's victory against Elden Beast wasn't as close a call as you might think, as he had plenty of health and didn't seem anywhere near as defeated as he was during the battle against Malenia. Cenat still screamed a mighty "YESSSS" into the mic after taking Elden Beast down, a victory that he has more than earned after putting so much time in.
It's worth noting that Cenat has also been streaming his whole playthrough of Elden Ring and hasn't taken a break from the game even in its toughest moments. That's got to take a lot out of you.
