BioWare recently hosted a Q&A session for Dragon Age: The Veilguard on Discord, offering even more details on top of everything revealed last week. It includes the title being completely playable offline. There isn’t even a need to link to your EA account, per game director Corinne Busche.
“It is very important to us that [the system] is built into the client. You can play this game entirely offline. No connection, you don’t have to link to your EA accounts. That’s been a really big request,” said Busche (transcribed by PC Gamer).
This is also in line with a statement to IGN, where she confirmed that there wouldn’t be any microtransactions or battle passes. “You don’t have to connect online. Our focus is on making this the most complete single-player game we possibly can.” It means you can’t carry over decisions from previous titles, though there will be options when creating a character to customize the world state.
