Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree director Hidetaka Miyazaki talked about the new weapon types coming and various previews outlined a few recently (alongside their Weapon Arts). However, a Bandai Namco representative told GamesRadar that there are “around 100 new weapons” in the expansion.
“Around 100 new weapons, including eight new categories, each with several variations,” they said, but that’s not all. It seems that there may be more than the +10 bosses touted previously. When asking for clarification, the publisher said, “Just like in Elden Ring, not all bosses need to be defeated, but there will still be plenty of difficult challenges for the brave Tarnished who wish to test themselves.”
It seemingly indicates optional bosses, perhaps the challenge on “equal footing” with Malenia that Miyazaki spoke about. We’ll need to wait for more details.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree launches on June 21st for Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PC. Its size is allegedly 16.5 GB per PlayStation Game Size on Twitter, which also noted that pre-loading would begin on June 19th. Head here for more details on the new dungeons and bosses that will be encountered, and here to learn more about the Scadurtree Fragments and how they’ll increase survivability.
