When Sega cancelled multiplayer shooter HYENAS last year, it said developer Creative Assembly would be reverting to focusing on strategy titles going forward, a genre the studio has become synonymous with thanks to its Total War games. Now, a report claims that multiple of those titles are currently in the works at the studio.
Citing reliable anonymous sources, a DualShockers report claims that as of October last year, Creative Assembly was working on three Total War games. Interestingly enough, one of those games is a Star Wars spinoff. Currently, however, there’s no word on which of the three titles is the furthest along in development, and what Sega and Creative Assembly’s plan is for their release dates.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the only Star Wars game strategy fans have to look forward to. A Star Wars strategy titles is currently also in the works at Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment. It has yet to be fully unveiled.
Creative Assembly was one of several Sega studios to be hit with layoffs earlier this year, which was preceded by another round of job cuts following HYENAS’ cancellation last year.
