If you can believe it, The Wolf Among Us 2 was first announced back in 2019. It's been nothing but bad news ever since, with various delays pushing the game back further and further, finally ending with a vague release date of 2024 that we have no idea Telltale will actually be able to meet. Thankfully, we've had a few positive updates recently, including confirmation the game is still in development, and now we have some new screenshots to pore over.
Four screenshots in total were shown off by a Telltale dev on Tumblr (which you can find down below), all of which are apparently from the game's current build, which is currently in progress. None of the images are all that astonishing, consisting of various shots of Bigby Wolf and other characters, but it does give us our first official look at how The Wolf Among Us 2 is shaping up in years.
There is one screenshot more interesting than the rest though, which appears to be an image of actual gameplay. In it, we can see Bigby stood in the middle of a dim kitchen, with what appears to be a game cursor hovering over a kitchen table. We can also see the objectives in the top right corner, which lets us know that Bigby is investigating a crime scene.
In addition to these new screenshots, the developer in question shared a very small development update on the actual game. They explain that the team behind the title is "heads down" at the moment, which is one of the main reasons as to why we've heard so little about The Wolf Among Us 2 for a little while.
They also explain that Telltale isn't quite ready to give players a big update just yet, or whether the team will actually hit its goal of a 2024 release, but they hope that these screenshots tide us over and reassure fans that the game is alive and well. However, it does also imply that we might be waiting a lot longer for some more news, but let's hope that's not the case, and fingers crossed we get a decent update or release date this summer.
