Over the years since , CD Projekt Red has released several major patches with new features such as a working Metro system, multiple apartments, car combat, and more. With the studio recently confirming that no more major updates are coming to as its developers turn their attention toward the game's sequel, there are some further improvements to one of its later features that should be incorporated in 's launch.
As with many RPG stories, 's story is enhanced by the characters players can interact with, and the relationships that can be built. There are several characters that V can romance throughout the game, and developing these relationships can lead to different endings and end-credits dialogue, making the overall experience more satisfying or gut-wrenching as players grow to care about these supporting characters.
A male V can romance Panam Palmer, a Nomad from the Aldecado family, and Johnny Silverhand's former bandmate, Kerry Eurodyne. A female V, the hacker Judy Alvarez, and former NCPD detective River Ward are romanceable. V can also hook up with Meredith Stout, Joytoys, or let Johnny Silverhand have a long overdue date with Rogue.
When originally launched, the romanceable characters could only be interacted with in their own storylines, and via the occasional messages on V's Holocom. After players did the last mission with their love interest, that was the last time they could see them in person until the game's finale, depending on whether they decided to involve their love interest in their final plans.
Since then, 's 1.5 update introduced "" with new features such as additional Holocom conversations and messages with partners, which could lead to characters sending nudes to V, and player interactions outside the main story.
