A gamer recently discovered a bundle of classic PlayStation and Xbox 360-era games that were left out in the rain. Retro video game prices are notoriously out of control at secondhand stores, but gamers looking for classic PS2, PS3, and Xbox 360 games can sometimes make incredible finds at garage sales or thrift stores.
There are many stories of gamers making incredible gaming discoveries at thrift stores. Sometimes, rare games are sold for a fraction of their actual value at these establishments, while other times gamers may find extra games hidden away in used console disc drives or shoved into the cases of other titles. What's even luckier is finding old-school games completely free of charge, which is what happened with Reddit user PatFury.
PatFury found a bundle of old PS2, PS3, and Xbox 360 games sitting in the rain with a note indicating that the person that left them was giving them away for free. The visible games, from left-to-right, are Freedom Fighters, Medal of Honor: Frontline, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, TimeSplitters, Red Faction, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, NHL 12, Perfect Dark Zero, Viva Pinata: Party Animals, Grand Theft Auto 3,Fast & Furious: Showdown, Commandos 2: Men of Courage, Assassin's Creed 2, Virtua Fighter 4, L.A. Noire, Madden NFL 10, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs. The upside down games are Zumba Fitness Core, which was made with the Kinect peripheral in mind, BMX XXX, FIFA 10, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
There are some genuinely fantastic games in this discarded bundle, making it an especially impressive find. The bundle includes the classic PS2 Grand Theft Auto trilogy of games, considered to be some of the best games ever made, alongside other heavy hitters like Metal Gear Solid 2, Assassin's Creed 2, the original TimeSplitters, and more. Getting all these games completely free of charge is an undeniable steal.
