Five of the top 10 most wishlisted games on Steam are coming to Xbox Game Pass as day one releases, including eagerly awaited titles such as Manor Lords and Hollow Knight: Silksong. This marks an excellent time to be an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, as Microsoft keeps adding several amazing games to its subscription service.
Xbox Game Pass started in 2017, and it has steadily grown to be one of the most important subscription services in the gaming industry. While the growth of Game Pass subscriptions is slowing down, the service continues to be greatly popular, and it often offers several excellent games. In 2024 alone, subscribers have already had the chance to try Resident Evil 2’s remake, Dead Island 2, Persona 3 Reload, Harold Halibut, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, for example.
Now, five of the ten most wishlisted games on Steam are confirmed to become day one Game Pass releases: Manor Lords, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Frostpunk 2, STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl, and ARK 2. This showcases a diversity of genres, as the list includes a shooter, a Metroidvania platformer, a survival game, a city builder, and a strategy game. Other popular Steam games that are not confirmed to appear in the service are Hades 2, Black Myth: Wukong, The First Descendant, Unrecord, and Blight: Survival.
Most of these day one releases are expected to be out in 2024. From these confirmed games, Manor Lords is launching soon on April 26, followed by Frospunk 2 on July 25, and STALKER 2 on September 5. Hollow Knight: Silksong and ARK 2 still do not have official release dates. The long wait for Silksong, specifically, is frustrating many Hollow Knight fans. Gamers expected to see Hollow Knight: Silksong appearing at the recent Nintendo Indie Showcase event, but the eagerly awaited Metroidvania was nowhere to be seen.
