The latest Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update is now available to download, bringing several bug fixes and other requested improvements. Insomniac launched the latest chapter of its critically acclaimed open-world superhero series on the PlayStation 5 back in October, pitting Peter Parker and Miles Morales against classic villains like Kraven the Hunter, the Lizard, and the long-teased Venom. Spider-Man 2 has been a smash hit so far, selling over five million copies worldwide and ranking as one of Insominac’s highest-rated releases.
Every superhero has their flaws, though, and Insomniac has spent the past few months working to address Spider-Man 2’s various glitches and perceived shortcomings through free downloadable update patches. The biggest of these came in March and finally added New Game Plus and the ability to replay story missions alongside a host of new costumes, special bonus challenges, and accessibility features. Additionally, Spider-Man 2 teamed up with Gameheads to sell a pair of alternate Peter and Miles skins, with the proceeds going toward helping underprivileged youth and youth of color looking to enter the tech and gaming industry.
Now Insomniac has released Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Version 1.002.003, an update patch that fixes bugs and glitches across a variety of different areas. One of these fixes corrects an issue players have been encountering with some of the game’s costumes, particularly Andrew Garfield’s updated costume from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, in which Spidey’s mask would appear unusually wavy. Other problems addressed in the new update include some users’ save data disappearing, custom accessibility presets resetting upon death, and the newly added Screen Reader feature not properly reading certain in-game text.
