Don't Nod Entertainment has revealed all the changes coming to Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden with its latest 1.4 update, which includes fixes to combat, quests, photo mode and more. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is one of developer Don't Nod Entertainment's more AAA-style projects, similar to its 2018 outing, Vampyr. Having been released back in February, the game received positive reception for its storytelling and dual protagonists, Banishers Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden sets players in late 1600s North America and follows the story of two Banishers as they attempt to rid the town and surrounding areas of New Eden of a nasty curse. From forests to beaches, to swamps and snowy mountains, players meet a number of haunted NPCs and are tasked with Haunting Cases, which result in the player deciding to either blame the living or banish the dead. Like with many of Don't Nod's games, these choices have a profound impact on the outcome of the game and the fate of the two Banishers.
Don't Nod revealed the contents of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden's new 1.4 update in a Focus Forum post, highlighting all the changes set to come to the ghost-hunting action-adventure game. Topping the list are some adjustments to Banishers' combat, namely changes to the behavior of particular enemies that can easily overwhelm the player when attacking in conjunction with certain other enemy types. Another bug that prevented enemies from following players or stuck them in an invisible state has been fixed as well. Finally, Update 1.4 also addresses a UI glitch that falsely claims that players are unable to swap their pieces of equipment in the menu.
Banishers' 1.4 update also clears up some issues with blocked quest progression and buggy quest markers. Climbing walls, ledges, and ropes is a big part of the exploration in Banishers, and the patch also takes care of some undesirable issues in relation to traversing the game's environments.
