Following the recently announced Tekken 8 roadmap, Bandai Namco has revealed the details of what will be in the next Tekken 8 update. This fits right in with the recent Tekken 8 roadmap, as it said Spring updates would be focused on balance adjustments, which is most of what is seen here.
Tekken 8 launched to acclaim but has been beset by controversies like the Tekken Shop being added post-release, as well as the Fight Pass, cosmetics, and other monetization. With the Tekken 8 update notes posted today, it seems Bandai Namco is trying to do that for Tekken 8, at least in part, when this patch launches on May 8th. The patch notes are chunky, and full of a lot of minute changes, but before that is reached, a mention of new items coming to the Tekken Shop is shared: new Ninja Pack and Shinobi Pack outfits available for all characters. Additionally, a legacy costume for Lili and a free avatar customization option for everyone are available. Then a handful of bug fixes are mentioned that should help with rollback processing, and Tekken8's online play, which has been a recent issue.
Following that is six pages worth of balance adjustments, and it promises a lot of tweaks and changes. In this update, they plan to address characters who are not able to showcase their strengths or unique abilities, while in June's planned 1.05 update they will be balancing characters with overly strong moves or combos. Mentioned specifically to be nerfed in 1.05 are Victor, Lili, King, Paul, and Yoshimitsu. June's patch is also planned to «enhance the value of player defensive techniques» so that situations where one player has total control of attacking are avoided.
