Award-Winning Casual Game Claw Stars Is Getting a Collab Event with Usagyuuun
Award-winning casual game Claw Star is collaborating with Minto for a huge Claw Stars x Usagyuuun event.
Developed and published by Appxplore, Claw Stars is a hugely popular take on those claw grabber machines that appear in amusement arcades around the world. It sees you dipping a claw into a heap of orbs and attempting to rescue trapped animals.
Once rescued, these animals become collectibles, and as you play you also build and restore planets, customize your hamster-operated spaceship, and explore a vast interstellar gameworld.
It’s a lot of fun.
Usagyuuun, meanwhile, is an adorable incredibly squishy character who appears in a vastly popular range of virtual stickers that phone users can send to each other in messaging apps.
At the time of writing, Usagyuuun stickers have been downloaded more than 570 million times globally, making them one of the most recognizable characters on earth. This is the first time the IP has partnered up with a gaming franchise.
The collab will see you navigating across the universe as Usagyuuun and friends, rescuing animals from heaps of orbs. Meanwhile, Claw Stars will introduce a set of stickers to use in the game’s multiplayer Squadron chat.
Appxplore CCO Lim Jenn Yu has waxed lyrical about the collaboration, claiming “Usagyuuun fits perfectly into the Claw Stars universe”. We tend to agree.
Excitingly, if the partnership bears fruit you can expect to see more such collaborations in the future. “I believe this is just the first step towards more long-term collaborations with Minto and possibly introducing new IPs across our games”.
The Claw Stars x Usagyuuun event is set to take place some time in the next few months.
