Following numerous delays, Homeworld 3 finally released earlier this week. Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive released a launch trailer to celebrate the game’s launch.
Homeworld 3’s launch is just the beginning as Gearbox and Blackbird have plans for at least three paid DLC packs as well as a number of free content drops in between. All of these details were shared as part of the game’s “Year One Pass” roadmap, though curiously the announced content is all being developed exclusively for the game’s War Games co-op mode. It remains to be seen what plans, if any, the developer has for the rest of the game.
Homeworld 3 is available in a number of premium editions, including the Deluxe Edition, Fleet Command Edition, and Collector’s Edition.
The Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99 and includes the base game and aforementioned Year One Pass.
For $20 more, Fleet Command owners get everything in the Deluxe as well as a digital soundtrack and a number of different multiplayer cosmetics.
The diehard Homeworld fan can pick up the Collector’s Edition for an eye-watering $174.99 and have access to all the previously mentioned items as well as a number of physical goods, including the Khar-Kushian Mothership, Hiigaran Destroyer, Hiigaran Torpedo Frigate, a WW2 inspired spotter deck, and a Homeworld 3 keychain.
