Bethesda has pulled the curtain back on the big Starfield update that's coming on May 15. Since launch, Bethesda has released multiple updates for Starfield to address fan feedback and squash lingering bugs. However, the next update for the game may very well be the biggest to date, implementing significant improvements that will benefit those playing specifically on Xbox as well as PC players.
Instead of simply dropping patch notes for the new Starfield update, Bethesda has also released a 5-minute video of the developers talking about what fans can expect from the update as well as what's coming a little further down the line. It's clear from the video that there are still many exciting features on the way for Starfield, but in the meantime, those on Steam Beta can download the latest update for testing right now.
The big Starfield May update will officially roll out on May 15, and it's bringing with it quite a few exciting changes. For example, the new update is finally addressing Starfield's problematic maps, which have long been a source of player complaints, completely revamping them. Not only that, but the Starfield update will make it easier for players to decorate the interior of their ships, respect traits in New Game+, and utilize a variety of new difficulty options.
The Starfield May update seems to be mostly focused on quality-of-life updates that should result in a smoother experience for all players. Those on Xbox specifically can look forward to new display options upon downloading the update. After downloading the new update, Starfield Xbox players will be able to choose between 30, 40, 60, or uncapped frame rate on VRR displays, with the option of 30 or 60 on non-VRR displays. Players will also have the option to choose between prioritizing Visuals or Performance.
