Blizzard has unveiled «TITANS», Hearthstone's newest expansion. The artwork for this expansion announcement features the Titan Pantheon members we already know as well as Amitus, a brand-new Titan never encountered before! Who is she, what do we know about her, and will we see her in World of Warcraft?
Hearthstone vs WoW LoreWhile Hearthstone lore is based on World of Warcraft, Hearthstone itself is more of an alternative universe, with unique lore completely different from the World of Warcraft canon. However, Hearthstone characters also often make it into official World of Warcraft lore, a most recent example is the introduction of Bartender Bob in Patch 10.1.5. In World of Warcraft lore, Titans are a race of colossal cosmic beings of Order, birthed from the World Souls of planets. The Titan Pantheon is currently made up of six titans: Aman'Thul, Eonar, Norgannon, Golganneth, Khaz'goroth, and Aggramar. A seventh Titan, Sargeras, deflected from the Pantheon to create the Burning Legion. He has been imprisoned since the events of Legion. Azeroth contains the world soul of a Titan, and the only other Titans we know of are deceased. In the new Hearthstone expansion, however, there will be a total of eleven Titans — one for every class! In other words, the Titan featured in the promotional artwork is just one of several new Titans that will be introduced in Hearthstone!
New TitansIn a recent group interview with Hearthstone VFX artist Luke Mason and lead designer Cora Georgiou, it was revealed that the name of the featured new Titan is Amitus.
