Today, we want to break down the topic of Season Blessings to share why this seasonal aspect is so important. Season 1 Developer Update Summary Season of the Malignant OverviewSo, what exactly is a Season Blessing in Diablo 4? A Season Blessing is a reward that Boosts or enhances some aspects of a character. In Season of the Malignant, there will be five Season Blessings to choose from:
Boost to experience earned from killing monsters. Boost to the amount of gold earned through vendor sales. Boost to the chance of rare materials from salvage. Boost to the duration of all Elixirs. Boost to the chance of powerful Malignant Heart drops.How will players be able to acquire these Season Blessings? Season Blessings can be purchased by using Smoldering Ash, which is a currency that is rewarded as a part of Battle Pass progression. Earning Favor through completing Objectives in the Season Journey, or just by playing the game regularly will eventually earn enough Favor to unlock the Free Tiers of the Battle Pass that reward this Smoldering Ash. Once enough Smoldering Ash has been acquired, players can decide which Season Blessing they would like to activate or upgrade.But if players have purchased the Accelerated Battle Pass or Tier Skips, aren't Season Blessings pay-to-win? Honestly, we were skeptical of this as well. But since characters are required to reach a certain level before a Smoldering Ash Tier can be unlocked, we believe this will alleviate the pay-to-win worries.
