Not many people seemed to be on board with this clip from Twisted Metal, the TV adaptation of Sony's car combat series. However, it's looking a little better in this new trailer, which gives a broader view of what we can expect.
Starring Anthony Mackie as John Doe, he's enlisted to deliver a mysterious package across a wasteland full of lunatics — including the intimidating Sweet Tooth (Samoa Joe, voiced by Will Arnett). The series, executive produced by Deadpool scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, is written by Cobra Kai's Michael Johnathan Smith, and clearly is going for a silly action comedy vibe. The trailer features a mix of character-focused moments with hints at some proper vehicular carnage, which is what we all come to Twisted Metal for, of course.
We can see some potential in this — if you're willing to turn your brain off — but it won't be long before we can finally watch it ourselves. Twisted Metal begins exclusively on Peacock on 27th July, so it's only a few weeks away.

Seems better
