Peacock has released a new trailer for the upcoming Twisted Metal TV series, which is viewable below.
Starring Anthony Mackie (Captain America: Brave New World), the show will begin streaming in the US on July 27, with episodes running for 30 minutes.
Twisted Metal is an original take on PlayStation’s vehicular combat series executive produced by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers of the Deadpool films and Zombieland. Michael Jonathan Smith, who wrote for and produced Cobra Kai, wrote and executive produced the show too.

According to Peacock’s official synopsis, the series follows “a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
“With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.”
In addition to Mackie, Twisted Metal stars Will Arnett (Arrested Development), Samoa Joe (AEW), Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3), Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Neve Campbell (Scream).
The show is the second TV series from PlayStation Productions, following this year’s hit The Last of Us adaptation.
It arrives ahead of a planned Twisted Metal video game reboot, which VGC exclusively reported last year is in active development at Sony’s Firesprite studio, after moving from original developer Lucid Games.
