Seasons in Diablo 4 can be complicated for newcomers. Seasonal content has been around since Diablo 2, and the seasonal servers of Diablo 4 follow in that tradition. Playing through the Battle Pass to earn new cosmetics is done very differently than other on-going games like Destiny 2, Fortnite, Warzone and more. Let’s rip the band-aid off right now. Seasons limited-time events that take place over a set period and include a Free or Premium Battle Pass — when a Season begins, a new Seasonal Server will open. To enjoy the new content, you’ll have to join the server with a new character. The Premium Battle Pass is for cosmetics only. After the season is over, all gear will be transported to a limited-time chest where a character on the Eternal Server can claim the items you’ve earned.
