Final Fantasy 16 has all kinds of secrets buried away in Valisthea, so many that the game needs an active time lore system to fully flesh out its world and characters. However, many fans have noticed something rather peculiar during their time with the game, that being a strange crystalline mass that can be spotted in the Royal Meadows in Sanbreque far off into the distance. Right now, no one knows what it actually is.
This crystal was brought up on Twitter by YouTuber Suzi Hunter, who is just as perplexed as the rest of us as to what this odd entity might be. It's clearly not one of the Mothercrystals, as all of them are clearly marked on the map and pretty hard to mistake for anything else, and it doesn't appear to be a bit of blighted land that's formed in a strange way. It looks very distinct when you get a closer gander, and some fans think that it may be related to some DLC.

The prevailing theory is that it could be a crystal related to Leviathan the Lost, the game's missing Eikon that Joshua Rosfield casually name drops part way through the game. Leviathan is a fairly popular summon in the Final Fantasy community, which makes its disappearance from Final Fantasy 16 despite it being specifically mentioned as part of the game's main story even more strange. Fans seem to think that the game is setting up a DLC with Leviathan as the main focus, and that this crystal is further proof of that theory.
