The Sims 4 will explore gems as a skill and occupation in its upcoming Crystal Creations Stuff Pack. The Sims 4 has four different types of DLC: expansion packs, game packs, stuff packs, and kits. DLC is categorized and priced according to how much content it'll bring to the table. Kits were the latest addition to The Sims 4, and after they were introduced, EA stopped releasing stuff packs for a considerable amount of time.
The first kit, Bust the Dust, was released in March 2021. Now, a total of 27 kits are available. On the other hand, the only stuff pack that came out between March 2021 and February 2024 was the Home Chef Hustle stuff pack back in September 2023. When the Home Chef Hustle stuff pack was announced, fans were surprised, as many thought that kits had completely replaced stuff packs.
The introduction of kits to The Sims 4 was quite controversial, but it might've finally slowed down. At least, it seems that EA has intentions of releasing stuff packs more regularly. With a much shorter time gap between releases this time around, the Crystal Creations Stuff Pack is coming to The Sims 4 before the end of February. This stuff pack focuses on learning gemology, collecting crystals and metals, and handcrafting jewelry. It seems that Crystal Creations will bring a lot of gameplay options to the table.
Players will be able to explore the Gemology Skill with the Crystal Creations Stuff Pack, and this will unlock more crafting options on the Gemology Table. Making jewelry in The Sims 4 won't be purely for aesthetic purposes. Gamers can learn how to take advantage of the energy that some crystals may have to get powerful abilities or boosts. According to the gameplay trailer, if Orange Topaz is charged on the Crystal Grid, it'll allow Sims to gain creative skills faster. Jet, for example, makes it possible for Sims to summon the Grim Reaper at will.
