Pokemon GO has revealed that Dragon-type Bagon will be the featured Pokemon for the April 2024 Community Day Classic event, which begins April 7. During the event, Pokemon GO players will encounter Bagon more frequently in the wild, and various event bonuses will be active as well.
Pokemon GO Community Day events are another opportunity for trainers to catch new Pokemon and potentially encounter shiny Pokemon. Community Day Classic events typically serve as a rerun of prior Community Day events, allowing players to capture a Pokemon they may have missed out on. Evolving the featured Pokemon in a limited-time window grants an exclusive move that can prove to be useful in Trainer Battles, Gyms and Raids in Pokemon GO.
The Pokemon GO April 2024 Community Day Classic event starring Bagon will be held on April 7 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Bagon will spawn more frequently than normal, increasing a player's chances of encountering a shiny version of the Generation 3 Pokemon. Players who evolve Shelgon, Bagon's evolution, during the event and up to two hours afterward will gain a Salamence that knows the exclusive Charged Attack Outrage. Outrage is a Dragon-type move with 110 attack power and an energy cost of 50.
Multiple event bonuses will be available during the event's three-hour window, including triple XP gains for catching Pokemon, Lure Modules and Incense that last for three hours, and the opportunity to catch Smeargle in Pokemon GO. Community Day Classic Field Research tasks will also be available. Completing these new Field Research tasks and catching Bagon will award players with additional encounters, Stardust, Great Balls, and other useful items. Similar to Field Research, the April 2024 Community Day Classic Special Research story will give players additional rewards for making good progress. The Special Research story will cost $1 or a gift ticket, which players can receive from a friend with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.
