Ditto is known for being one of the hardest Pokémon to catch in, with even experienced Trainers rarely finding any sightings of it. As opposed to the majority of other Pokémon, Ditto can't be found in the conventional way. Ditto transforms into other Pokémon in battle and requires a unique method to catch them in .

Ditto disguises rarely change, with the list of Pokémon it can transform into lasting a number of months before updating. Unlike Giovanni's team line-up, which changes monthly, the Pokémon Ditto can transform into has stayed the same since it changed in December 2023. You can use regular Incense or your Daily Adventure Incense to increase the number of spawns in your location to give you a better chance of catching a Ditto this month.
The different Pokémon disguising themselves as Ditto in April 2023 haven't changed from March 2023. For this month Ditto can appear as eleven different Pokémon spanning across the first seven Generations of the series. Most Pokémon that Ditto can appear as fairly common types, increasing your chances of finding one.
From the original Generation 1, Ditto can disguise itself as four different Pokémon, Oddish, Koffing, Rhyhorn or Goldeen. The most common Pokémon that Ditto can disguise itself are Gen 2 Spinarak, Gen 4 Bidoof, or Gen 7 Stufful. Ditto can also rarely be caught through special research tasks, but there aren't currently any of these in .
