The Wings of Icarus had to be temporarily removed from competitive game modes due to an unexpected issue, and since Fortnite players have relied on the item heavily this season, this can affect playability dramatically. Chapter 5 Season 2 is titled Myths & Mortals because it's all about the gods that took over the Society's place as the main villains after they were defeated in the events that took place during the Underground season. The ancient Greek mythology theme made it possible for the developers to add all sorts of weapons, items, and abilities to Fortnite due to their legendary nature.
There are four Mythic rarity weapons on the island, and players can get their hands by defeating the Olympian Bosses at different named locations. However, these aren't standard Battle Royale weapons with boosted stats. However, there are three items in Chapter 5 Season 2, which are based on characters from Greek mythology: the Thunderbolt of Zeus, the Chains of Hades, and the Wings of Icarus. All of these three items can be used offensively, but the Wings of Icarus have unique value, as many fans believe it is one of the best mobility items seen to date in Fortnite.
When players equip the Wings of Icarus, they can freely fly great distances across the sky, and it prevents fall damage. This item has a decent amount of value, and once it runs out, players can simply find another one, as it's fairly common. Unfortunately, due to an error, gamers won't be able to find the Wings of Icarus at all in competitions for an undisclosed amount of time. Even though the Ranked game mode has a competitive component, this only affects the tournaments in the Compete tab; gamers can still enjoy Ranked mode in Fortnite.
Given its useful nature and all of the places Fortnite players can unlock Wings of Icarus, many gamers have created gameplay strategies with this item in mind. Whether they'd like to land in a secluded location and then fly out to avoid the storm once the Storm Circle starts
