That holds true for Light Cones, Honkai: Star Rail‘s form of weapons, but there are at least a few Light Cones you can access for free.
Of course, “free” isn’t really free — you’ll still need to put in the hours and grind away to unlock these Light Cones. But at least you won’t have to pay real cash. From where you can get free Light Cones to which ones you should buy first, here’s a look at 10 free Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail.
Keep in mind that these aren’t going to be the best Light Cones in the game, but they’re a great place to start if you’re new to Honkai: Star Rail or just can’t be bothered to spend premium currency.

Where can I get free Light Cones?
At the beginning of Honkai: Star Rail, your first free units come with their own three-star Light Cones. You can easily superimpose these Light Cones using copies of the same item that you might get from pulling on banners. All the other free Light Cones come from two main places: Herta’s Shop and the Forgotten Hall.
Herta’s Shop
Herta’s Shop is connected to the Simulated Universe, where you select randomized power-ups to battle through different worlds. It has three five-star Light Cones, custom-made Superimposers for strengthening those Light Cones, and unlimited Star Rail passes that you can buy with the rest of your Herta Bonds.
