Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone's MORS sniper rifle has been nerfed to tone down its penetration damage. Before the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 update, players found they could combine certain attachments to make the MORS fire through any surface, including entire buildings.
The MORS was introduced with Modern Warfare 3's Season 3 content drop alongside another new weapon, the FJX Horus SMG. While the Horus hasn't proven to be particularly popular, the MORS quickly became one of the go-to sniper options for Warzone and MW3 players alike thanks to its quick handling and high damage. However, the weapon quickly attracted negative attention after players discovered its penetration could be uncapped, an issue that Call of Duty's developers have promptly responded to.
Call of Duty announced a new update that fixed the issue causing the MORS' Photonic Charge Barrel attachment to provide unlimited penetration. Additionally, the update reduced the penetration multiplier in the MORS' Anti-Materiel Slug Ammo and nerfed the sniper's base penetration. These three changes combined should drastically reduce the weapon's ability to damage enemies through walls, but the rest of its attributes remain the same, so the MORS should still be a strong option when it comes to most forms of sniping. A previous Call of Duty update fixed a common MORS bug that caused its optics to become misaligned and miss shots that should have been on target.
Call of Duty received another update today, April 17, that fixed a bug preventing players from changing their emblem. Developers also confirmed that a new issue causing PC players to see unnecessarily high RAM usage is being investigated. Based on Call of Duty's recent update tempo, the new bug could be fixed quite quickly as part of a minor patch. As for major updates, the series' next one will likely be when Season 3 Reloaded begins in early May.
Call of Duty also just released its Cheech and Chong bundle that costs 3,000 CoD
