Microsoft will release the upcoming installment of the Call of Duty franchise to its Xbox Game Pass subscription service at launch this fall, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
The new entry, which has yet to be officially announced, will have have a dedicated deep dive following the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9. According to The Wall Street Journal, the game’s plans for Xbox Game Pass are expected to be announced at the event.
The Verge >recently reported that Microsoft was debating internally whether to put new releases of Call of Duty into Xbox Game Pass, with one consideration being raising the pricing of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The Wall Street Journal does not make it clear whether Microsoft has decided to charge extra for Call of Duty inside Xbox Game Pass, or whether it will raise its subscription fee.
According to The Verge, the next Call of Duty game is planned to launch in late October and is rumored to be set during the 90s Gulf War.
