The Mitama demons - Saki Mitama, Nigi Mitama, Ara Mitama, and Kushi Mitama - are among the rarest demons in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. And the most unique, as their weaknesses change every time you fight any of them. As they nullify every damage type except the one they are weak against, you only have two shots at figuring out the weakness of the Mitama you are currently fighting.
As relying on sheer luck is never a good idea, you need a reliable strategy to defeat Miatama demons. The only one available in the early game is to stock up on Spyglasses and use them when encountering a Mitama demon to uncover their weakness. In case none of the demons in your active party have the appropriate elemental attack, switch one that does in. Alternatively, you can use any skill with the Pierce property to defeat them, as these skills bypass any elemental resistance and immunity.
While this may sound like more trouble than it is worth, defeating Mitama demons in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is an excellent way to earn some serious amounts of experience points and Macca and obtain some rare items that can make the Nahobino's life easier in Da'at. Defeating a Saki Mitama will make it drop multiple Relic items that can be sold at Cadaver's Hollow for decent amounts of Macca. Defeating a Nigi Mitama will make it drop a Small Glory Crystal that grants 10 Glory to unlock additional Miracles. Taking down a Kushi Mitama will make it drop a Gospel, which increases the level of the Nahobino by one upon level up. The Ara Mitama will drop a Grimoire upon defeat, a special item that raises the level of any demon by one if its current level is lower than the Nahobino's upon use.
