GSC Game World has revealed that Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released during Q1 2024, and that the game is in its final development stage.
The studio released a new trailer titled «Strider Trailer,» which features the eponymous character. At the end of the trailer, it shows «Q1 2024.» They did not provide a specific release date, but it's possible it could be announced at The Game Awards 2023, which airs on December 7.

During the PC Gaming Show, GSC Game World CEO Yevhen Grygorovych noted that the game was in its final phase of development. «This game stands as the biggest and most complex game in our lives. It was ambitious from the beginning but evolved into an ultimate challenge,» he explains. «It holds extreme significance and a deeply personal connection for us, crafted amidst the most stressful conditions imaginable.»
Stalker 2 was supposed to be released in 2022 but has been repeatedly delayed due to the ongoing Russian and Ukraine war. GSC Game World has also suffered incidents like email hacks and cybersecurity threats.
Stalker 2 will now launch in Q1 2024 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. It will be included in Game Pass at launch, but reportedly has only has a three-month exclusivity period on Xbox. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's Stalker 2 preview.
