These days, fighting games live and die based on their online playerbase, and yet, Mortal Kombat 1 did not launch with crossplay support. Thankfully, that will change relatively soon though, as NetherRealm Studios announced in a recent livestream that crossplay between PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 will be coming in early 2024 (perhaps unsurprisingly, the ill-fated Switch version is left out).

The first MK1 Kombat Pack includes Omni Man from Invincible (already released), Quan Chi, Peacemaker from Suicide Squad, Ermac, Homelander from The Boys, and Takahashi Takeda. Kameo fighters include Tremor, Mavado, Janet Cage, Ferra, and Khameleon. The Kombat Pack will set you back $40 and is also included in the MK1’s $110 Premium Edition.
