The Dune: Awakening team has opened up its TikTok account and given a few nuggets of info about the upcoming survival MMO. The video, which was also shared via Funcom on other social platforms, gives a few details against some clips.
Funcom’s Joel Bylos, Dune: Awakening ’s Chief Creative Officer starts the short clip with the question “What is Dune: Awakening?” and dives in. It is an open world MMO game set on Arrakis, the vast, dry, desert planet that is central to the story told in Dune and its universe.
He says that Funcom and Legendary have been working together on the game and making sure to stay true to the IP. In this video, Bylos emphasizes a primary focus on creating a survival game within this harsh world. Since Arrakis is such a dry planet, and there are so many different factions, political machinations, and of course values like spice and water, there are a lot of ways to survive and also to suffer.
