The Eternal Tombs team is reflecting on 2023 in its December dev update. We get an update on how development is coming along, and a look ahead to their target launch window.
The independent MMORPG had a big year, with a name change, various new milestones, a period of heads down, focused development, a big update on testing, and even a pre-alpha raid test last month. There have been a few tests already and they promise there will be more public tests to come, as Triune Studios prepares to continue making big strides on the game.
This comes as they lay down some big goals. “This year has been an incredible year for progress in the development of Eternal Tombs and 2024 will be the year where we start to wrap things up for a 2025 launch,” the update says. With development about six years in so far, they’re looking ahead to not just finish development, with tests along the way, and this fits with their stated goal, “to get you into the world as soon as possible and we are striving so hard to make that happen”.
Eternal Tombs will be an MMORPG that will feature live game masters changing things up and deep player impact on the world. According to this December update, they’re currently in the polishing stage, which is a good indicator of where things are going. This also lines up with those promised public tests to come.
Another aspect of this year-end devblog notes that the team has only revealed so much about the game so far and will have more reveals and surprises on the way. It looks like we’re going to start getting much more information once 2024 begins.
