Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is almost here, and ahead of launch, players are now able to preload the game onto their PlayStation 5. Everyone who has pre-purchased the game can preload now, Sony announced on social media. «Get ready to swing,» the company said.
Spider-Man 2 won't unlock until launch day, however, so players have to wait until October 20 to actually jump into the game. The game unlocks at 12 AM ET, according to its product page.
Preloading is probably a good idea, too, as the game comes in at 98GB. Getting it installed ahead of time ensures you're ready to go once the game unlocks.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is available starting at $70 for the standard edition and $80 for the digital deluxe edition that comes with a variety of in-game items and perks. People who preorder any version of the game get the Arachknight suit, the Shadow-Spider suit, and the Web Grabber gadget, as well as three additional skill points.
The limited-edition PS5 consoles that sport an arachnid-themed design are currently sold out, but you can pick up a regular PS5 bundle that'll include a digital download code for the game.
Spider-Man 2 is a sequel 2018's Spider-Man. Insomniac Games returns to develop the sequel, which introduces Kraven the Hunter and Lizard. The game has big shoes to fill, as the original sold more than 33 million copies. Spider-Man 2 is exclusive to PS5 and is not coming to PS4.
In addition to Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Games is developing a new Wolverine game.
