Sons of the Forest has received its first patch, and let me tell you, it is a thorough one.
With this update, the Early Access game will now include items such as binoculars and hang gliders. There is also a new mini-boss battle for you to test your mettle against (although, just as a heads up, this patch has also halved shotgun damage, so something to bear in mind if you go in guns blazing).
In addition to the above, a range of other quality of life features have also been implemented thanks to the game's first patch. Players will now be able to lock doors, berries have been tweaked to give slightly more fullness and there are a variety of animation improvements.
This is by no means everything though. You can see the complete patch notes below (although, perhaps make yourself a cup of tea before reading — it's quite an extensive list):

Our Vikki has been playing Sons of the Forest, and she has been impressed despite not generally opting for Survival games.
«Whilst the survival traits are undeniably there — you'll have to manage your hunger, thirst, strength, and fatigue carefully; more so when the weather turns and you're quietly rebranding yourself as a popsicle — this delicate balance adds to the fun, rather than impeding it, and it's refreshingly simplistic given the island's vast array of flora, fauna, and freely-flowing water,» she wrote of her experience.
Meanwhile, our guides team has been covering Sons of the Forest as well. If you aren't sure about how to get hold of the game's hang gliders, you can find out how to do just that here.
