Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 got a fairly sizable update in December focused on PvE play, and developer Saber Interactive has signalled that PvP players can expect some sustenance in 2025. A close-quarters competitive map and the Salamander Champion character have been teased, and the latter will be available in both PvP and PvE play.
Sabre Interactive shared the happy news in its December community update (thanks, MP1st). Custom PvP lobbies are coming in 2025, with the ability to set modifiers, player counts (up to 6v6), and remove restrictions like how many players can select the same class. Saber reiterates that Horde Mode is still coming, but that will be later in 2025, and that a Prestige Rank system is on the way, allowing players to upgrade their classes still further.

The Emperor would approve. Thoroughly good game.
While I enjoyed Space Marine 2 for the most part it did get a bit samey for me. I am holding out for this horde mode though to get me back into it.
