One highly skilled artist has recently taken to social media to share his Pokemon fusion art of Skarmory and Duskull. This was his second known attempt at combining the two Pokemon to date, with both being high-effort, memorable, and creepy in their own way.
Pokemon fusion art has been around for about as long as the beloved franchise itself. And while there's no shortage of artists who like to dabble in this format, few boast the output that Ryan Cortez, AKA Reddit user rc1246, does. Fewer still are those who manage to apply their own style to such projects with as much consistency and flair as this self-taught artist, who has so far authored Pokemon fusion art combining Heracross and Ampharos, Golem and Porygon Z, Slugma and Solosis, and dozens of other creatures over the past half a decade.
Cortez's latest project saw him blend Skarmory and Duskull into a single pocket monster, which was actually his second known take on the idea to date. On a technical level, the new design is characterized by realistic shading, a simple but impactful color palette, and sharp, deliberate lines that Cortez is known for. His style tends to produce results that both unsettle and intrigue, as was the case with the artist's take on a disturbing Pokemon fusion of Dodrio and Ditto, Houndoom and Electrode, and many other works that he shared over the years.
No matter one's preferences and artistic inclinations, it is a commonly held belief that art should evoke a response from the viewer. This newly completed Skarmory and Duskull
